RELX INC Automation Developer in Manila, Philippines

Main responsibility of this role is to provide Automation Development expertise to REPH and to the Business Unit(s) that this role supports. This role will work closely with the Automation Supervisor, OPEX managers and operations leaders to ensure successfully delivery of automation projects. He/she will be responsible in the successful execution of the automation life cycle specifically the DEVELOP phase, maintenance and troubleshoot (as the need arises) of automation solutions deployed. He/she is expected to work closely with onshore and offshore business partners mainly to1. Design and develop the most efficient automation solution for processes reviewed and prioritized.

  1. Ensure visibility of project pipeline both locally and onshore; and

  2. Compliance, Security and Data Privacy compliance prior to release of solutions to production.

He/she will be also be involved in other phases of the automation life cycle (as needed) to ensure seamless delivery of automation solutions to production. Such involvement includes but not limited to process mapping, analysis, benefit computation, project pipeline review & gathering of best practices ensuring delivery of most efficient solution. Lastly, he/she will be tapped to conduct/support automation related trainings to further build the automation community of experts for REPH.

This role is also empowered to recommend automation solutions available in his/her toolkit with strong emphasis on the following technology stack – RPA tools such as Power Platform, UiPath, Power Automate and other alternative RPA tools, and Python

Accountabilities:

  • Design and develop process automation using core automation workflow principles that are efficient, well structured, documented, maintainable and easy to understand.

  • Hands-on development, configuration and testing of process automation to meet the defined business requirements.

  • Serve as a subject matter expert in RPA and Power Platform

  • Process Automation monitoring and troubleshooting, status reporting, testing and issue resolution across all the phases.

  • Works collaboratively with process experts across global process, SMEs and business stakeholders during process analysis, script development & test and UAT phases to deliver automation solution (based on tech stack identified) with quality.

  • Provide training to offshore or other teams in automation process and technology (as needed).

  • Take responsibility for project activities including work estimation, planning, stakeholder management and project quality;

  • Strives to embrace diverse ideas, best practice, and industry trends from a variety of sources (internal and external) to create quality solutions, products, and services;

  • Write and review portions of detailed specifications for the development of system components of moderate complexity;

  • Align w/ global delivery team in delivering standard and consistent code/workflows to ensure long term sustainability and quicker turn around for future enhancements

  • Complete simple bug fixes and coordinate w/ global delivery team when issue is not resolved;

  • Work closely with other development team members to understand product requirements and translate them into software designs;

  • Operate in various development environments (Agile, Waterfall, etc.) while collaborating with key stakeholders;

  • Resolve technical issues as necessary;

  • Keep abreast of new technology developments an features of current technologies used;

  • All other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • BS Engineering/Computer Science, MIS or equivalent experience;

  • 2-3 years of development experience and solid background in programming, must have experience in RPA automation.

  • Working experience in coding RPA solutions at enterprise level using one of the industry leading Robotics Automation Solutions Provider such as UiPath and/OR other alternative RPA solutions such as Power Automate or Python

  • The ability to communicate effectively with technical personnel as well as management/executives including verbal, formal presentation and written communication skills is essential

  • Able to perform development in line with best practices, understand why particular approach would be best for supporting a requirement, deliver clean, well-commented configuration, and able to unit test effectively

  • Detail oriented.

  • Excellent written and communication skills;

  • Experience in workflow scripting, web services and Integration objects and database configuration

  • Understanding of Process Design documents, Technical Design documents on Automation space and knowledge of various automation components and features available in Process Robotics Automation.

  • Finance related automation projects exposure preferred but not required.

  • UiPath certification/Power Platform related certifications highly preferred
