Perlmutter Cancer Center (PCC)/ Center for Blood Cancers (CBC)

The Laura and Isaac Perlmutter Cancer Center affiliated with the NYU Grossman School of Medicine and NYU Langone Health is an NCI-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center with robust disease-specific clinical trials programs that provide patients access to a wide array of novel treatment options. Our faculty has shown national and international leadership in early-phase and investigator-initiated trials, offering a diverse clinical trial portfolio and pioneering advancements in the application of targeted treatment immunotherapy, and other innovative approaches to cancer.

The Center for Blood Cancers (CBC) at the PCC serves a large, diverse patient population across the NYULH network. Our expert clinical team includes 26 attendings, with specialties in leukemia, myeloma, lymphoma, Bone Marrow Transplant, and Cellular Therapies, who treat over 1000 heme-malignancies annually and deliver the highest quality care. We have a robust clinical trial program and accrue approximately one hundred patients to phase I-III clinical trials annually. In addition, PCC has world-class basic scientists who study hematologic malignancies, with expertise in immunology, hematopoiesis, carcinogenesis, and cell signaling.

Position Description:

The PCC is seeking a Director for the CBC with experience and expertise in leading translation research programs in hematologic malignancies. This position is tenure track eligible at an Associate or full Professor level, depending upon the candidate's qualifications, experience, and achievements. The successful candidate will be charged with the development, growth, and leadership of a translational research program and will be expected to engage in translational and clinical research, clinical education, and potentially limited patient care.

Competitive candidates are expected to have a defined research focus, a strong track record of continuous extramural research funding, a track record of significant scholarly achievement, and experience in leadership and collaborative research programs. Applicants must hold an M.D., MD/PhD, or equivalent degree. A successful physician-scientist candidate should be board-certified in an oncologic subspecialty, such as hematology and/ or medical oncology, and must possess or be eligible to obtain an active medical practice license in New York State.
