The college has a centralized advising model with four advisors who serve approximately 900 students. The advising team\'s overarching mission is to enhance student success by providing individualized and comprehensive advising services that meet the needs of a diverse student population. The academic advisors work very closely with the other Student and Administrative Services staff and academic departments.\ \ Student Services

Serves as the primary guide for students from recruitment to graduation: providing academic advising to both prospective and enrolled students; assists students in developing an academic plan, understanding, and completing degree requirements and completion of appropriate coursework; and advising students on college and university policies and procedures.

Assists students who are having academic or personal difficulties, including connecting them with appropriate community and campus resources.\ \ Communications

Maintains student advising records and provides data to liaison department for accrediting reports, public information requests and other reports.

Creates online and print information and materials for prospective and current students and revises materials and resources as needed.\ \ Team Member

Serves as an advocate for students.

Serves as a resource for faculty and collaborates closely with them.

Serves as a liaison to a college department and communicates any changes or issues affecting students, faculty, and staff

Serves on college and university committees; leads, as appropriate.

Develops and implements activities and programs to support and enhance student success and retention as needed and appropriate.

Participates in professional development and lifelong learning activities that contribute to the overall advising program and the college mission.\ \ Administration

Works closely with the Graduate School to ensure compliance with expectations of both the undergraduate and graduate component of our degree programs.
