Robert Half Accounts Payable Clerk in Manhattan Beach, California

Description We are offering a contract to hire employment opportunity for an Accounts Payable Clerk in the retail industry located in Manhattan Beach, California. As an Accounts Payable Clerk, you will be part of our Import Finance department, where your primary role will be to manage a large number of import documents, check for pricing changes, resolve disputes, and maintain accurate records.

Responsibilities:

• Process hundreds of import documents daily, ensuring all details are accurate

• Check for pricing changes on shipping and resolve any discrepancies

• Maintain accurate records of styles, colors, pricing, and item numbers

• Analyze data and print import documents for international shipments

• Review international documents for surcharges and ensure correct indication on invoices

• Input shipping document information into our internal system

• Send email requests for revisions or missing documents for shipments to foreign offices

• Create folders for each invoice indicating relevant information such as IDI number, ETD, ETA, and factory code

• Review all received revisions, including those requested by the Import group or revised by factories without prior advice

• Assist in checking and entering samples, email requests for samples, entry POP documents, creating cover sheets for FileNet scanning, FileNet scanning, and boxing up files

• Utilize 'Code Invoices' and 'Asset Inventory' skills for efficient operation of duties

This position provides an excellent opportunity to grow within the department, starting with responsibilities such as heavy filing and scanning. Requirements • Must have a minimum of 1 year experience in an Accounts Payable role within the Retail industry

• Proficiency in coding invoices is necessary

• Experience in asset inventory is required

• Should possess strong organizational and time management skills

• Must have excellent attention to detail and accuracy

• Should be able to work independently and as part of a team

• Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel, is necessary

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required

• Must have the ability to handle confidential information responsibly

• Should have the ability to meet strict deadlines and work under pressure

• Experience in using accounting software is a plus.
