Job Position Summary:

ACE Group is expanding its services into the cutting-edge field of machine learning in support of the current services ACE Group provides in the modeling and simulation field. We are seeking a motivated and innovative professional to join our team as an intermediate machine learning data scientist. This role offers the unique opportunity to contribute to pioneering projects that harness the power of machine learning to enhance modeling and simulation capabilities. As part of a dynamic team, you will play a critical role in analyzing data flow processes and implementing advanced machine learning tools that drive the future of simulation for advanced Navy weaponry.

Duties and Responsibilities Include:

  • Collaborate with senior engineers and data analysts to train and deploy machine learning models for various modeling and simulation applications.

  • Assist in the creation and optimization of algorithms that support validation and verification processes.

  • Analyze and preprocess data sets to ensure high-quality inputs for machine learning models.

  • Support the integration of machine learning models into existing simulation platforms and workflows.

  • Conduct research on emerging machine learning techniques and their potential applications in modeling and simulation.

  • Participate in the design, development, and testing of machine learning tools tailored to specific government contract requirements.

  • Prepare technical documentation, reports, and presentations to communicate findings and project progress.

  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of machine learning solutions into broader project goals.

Requirements

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Secret clearance (or the ability to obtain and maintain one).

  • At least 3 years of experience with machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow or PyTorch.

  • 3+ years’ experience with programming languages commonly used in machine learning, such as Python,R, or MATLAB.

  • Experience with software development practices, including version control (e.g., Git) and Agile methodologies.

  • Flexibility for up to 25% travel

  • Initial 4 weeks to be conducted at ACE Group’s NAS Patuxent River, MD corporate office for on-boarding and indoctrination.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Strong foundational understanding of machine learning principles, algorithms, and frameworks.

  • Experience or coursework in modeling and simulation, with an understanding of their applications in various domains.

  • Familiarity with data science tools and techniques, including data preprocessing, statistical analysis, and visualization.

  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, remotely managed classified environment.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically about complex systems.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

  • Knowledge of validation and verification processes in the context of simulations
