As our Indirect Taxes Manager, you will provide support to the business in the management of global indirect tax risks and opportunities. Forming part of the international tax team, you will have responsibility for driving improvements in the international indirect tax process, both from a systems and people processes perspective. Your ability to engage multiple departments, implementing best practices will be invaluable.

What to expect

  • Partnering with the business to provide technical advice to tax, finance, and operations on everyday operational matters and specific business initiatives e.g. market expansion and supply chain changes.

  • Drive global mapping exercise to identify indirect tax risks and opportunities.

  • Drive global review of AP, AR and VAT return processes with a view to standardising and automating wherever possible.

  • Provide oversight of the global compliance process

  • Own the tax configuration and setup of the business ERP and wider systems

  • Supporting the wider business on Customs Duty compliance and processes working closely with the customs and trade compliance Manager EMEA and global trade compliance manager

  • Identifying and implement continuous improvement in process and controls

  • Managing external advisers in relation to indirect tax matters

  • Implementing required changes due to changing indirect tax legislation across multiple jurisdictions

  • Business integration setup for VAT purposes for acquisitions

  • Provide training to other areas of the business

  • Ad hoc projects aligned to external changes e.g. Covid-19 VAT impacts, Brexit, MTD etc.

  • Assist with research and review of the indirect tax requirements for any new jurisdictions

What We Expect

  • Qualified in a professional Accountancy Qualification - ACA / ATT or CTA qualified or qualified by experience in the relevant profession or HMRC

  • Strong UK/EU VAT technical knowledge and an ability to independently to problem solve commercially focused situations.

  • Significant experience in VAT accounting

  • Ability to drive change and work with others to improve processes and controls

  • Ability to prioritise workload and keep to deadlines

  • Ability to communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders
