Program Manager

Position Overview

At Aurora Flight Sciences, we design, build, and fly advanced aircraft and enabling technologies from concept to reality. We are searching for a talented and self-motivated Program Manager to help us create the future of flight. Responsibilities will include but not be limited to the following:

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing and executing our aircraft development programs. The ideal candidate will understand how to navigate the nuances between prototype aircraft and production certified aircraft development. This position requires exceptional leadership, technical expertise, and a proven track record in managing fixed price development efforts.

The Program Manager will:

-Lead and manage the execution of aircraft development programs, ensuring adherence to project timelines, budgets, and quality standards.

-Develop and implement program strategies, plans, and objectives, aligning them with organizational goals and customer requirements.

-Provide guidance and direction to cross-functional teams, including engineering, manufacturing, procurement, and testing, to ensure successful program delivery.

-Foster a deep understanding of the differences between prototype aircraft and production certified aircraft, and effectively manage the unique challenges associated with each program phase.

-Monitor program progress, identify potential risks, issues, and opportunities, and develop mitigation strategies to ensure successful program execution.

-Collaborate with stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and regulatory authorities, to ensure compliance with industry standards and regulations.

-Develop and maintain program schedules, budgets, and resource allocation plans, ensuring efficient utilization of resources.

-Prepare and present program status reports and presentations to senior management and stakeholders, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and recommendations.

-Cultivate a culture of continuous improvement, promoting best practices and lessons learned from previous aircraft development programs.

-Stay updated on industry trends, emerging technologies, and regulatory requirements related to aircraft development, and apply this knowledge to enhance program performance.

Minimum Requirements

-Bachelor's degree in engineering, aerospace, or a related field.

-Minimum of 10 years of experience in aircraft development programs, with a strong focus on managing fixed price development efforts.

-In-depth knowledge of aircraft development processes, including design, manufacturing, testing, and certification, with a particular emphasis on the differences between prototype and production certified aircraft.

-Proven track record in successfully managing complex programs, delivering on-time and within budget.

-Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and build strong relationships with stakeholders.

-Strong understanding of project management methodologies and tools.

-Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex concepts in a clear and concise manner.

-Must be a US Person

  • Minimum Range: $112,000.00 to $199,000.00

  • Maximum Range: $139,000.00 to $248,000.00
