Saint-Gobain Product Manager in MALVERN, Pennsylvania

What’s the Job?

-

*This is a hybrid role with 2/3 days a week expected in our Malvern, PA Headquarters*

Ensure achievement of strategic, business and financial objectives for assigned lines of business within the Siding Products Group. -Guide product management actions, defines pricing strategy and drives sales and marketing of CertainTeed and/or Private Label brand portfolio. -Determine end user and distribution customer needs and develop new, innovative products and services, targeting ‘Industry Firsts.’ -Similarly, through ‘Voice of the Customer’ activities and competitive benchmarking, partner with NPD and Operations to develop product line extensions. -Develop volume and share goals by product line by region and track ongoing performance. -Provide direction to sales, manufacturing, NPD, customer service, finance and marketing to execute plans and programs. Drive product development projects in support of new business development activities for products across channels. -Accountable for managing overall product profitability for both existing and new product lines, as well as defining and tracking sales results for new product launches. -Operates with wide latitude for independent judgment and entrepreneurial decision making. - - - - - - - - - - .

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Product management responsibility for multiple product lines and hundreds of SKU’s:

  • Work may be independent or in conjunction with other product managers

  • Develop and maintain multi-generational product plans (MGPPs) to guide and drive portfolio strategy

  • Accountable for specification review and approval. -Manage and approve all product changes

• Leads product planning and definition to ensure the product delivers value to target customers, achieves portfolio objectives, brand positioning and channel segmentation/differentiation goals. -Directs cross functional product management teams to own and manage the product throughout all stages of life cycle.

• Works directly with NPD project managers, and in some instances leads NPD projects, to successfully develop and launch new products and line extensions in alignment with product strategic and operating plans

• Works with Marketing managers to develop strategies and tactics for successful marketing of products, including new product launches and repositioning of current products

• Works with Sales managers to drive achievement of sales operating plan for all product lines managed

• Directs Product Marketing resources in the design/content of training materials (for customers and CertainTeed sales people) to support the product line

• Conducts frequent customer visits to evaluate market needs and opportunities; participates in customer and TM councils and other ‘Voice of the Customer’ activities

• Working with Strategy/New Business Development Manager and Finance, leads development of operating plan for product line on annual basis, including market growth rates and new product sales budgets

• Directs product team for Product Category. -Members to include Finance, Marketing, Marketing Communications, Supply Chain/Logistics, Manufacturing and Sales

What do you bring?

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing or Business; MBA preferred. -Polymer science/technical background a plus. -Requires 3 - 5 years of progressive product management, marketing and new product development experience with previous P&L responsibility. -Background in consumer durables, building materials or home improvement products industry highly desired. - -

Training or certification in Lean, Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies a plus.

Competencies - Proven capabilities in planning, organizing, integrating and measuring programs and projects, with working knowledge of financial levers required to positively impact P&L and Cash Flow. -Strong problem solving, analytical and computer skills (Windows Word, Excel and PowerPoint). -Must have the ability to work effectively and positively with all organizational levels, be proactive and an innovator. -Excellent written and oral communication skills. -Flexible, able to handle multiple projects at the same time. -Ability to travel - approximately 20 - 25% - - - - - - - - - - - -

Other Skills and Abilities - Experience in category management, channel marketing, and/or merchandising preferred. -Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. -Able to operate as a matrix manager in coordinating people and technical resources from multiple areas of the company.
