About the role The E&C/EEO Investigator is responsible for investigating alleged violations of the Balfour Beatty Code of Ethics and/or other policies, involving complex compliance matters, including fraud/financial crimes, corruption, and other violations related to protected classes, harassment, discrimination, and retaliation.  The position reports to the Director of Ethics & Compliance Investigations and will work with the Ethics & Compliance team, HR, Legal, Internal Audit, and outside counsel to implement and execute an effective investigations program, including the continued development of the Company's investigations framework and reporting process. You may be eligible for a $500 net sign on bonus to be paid out in your first paycheck What you'll be doing Develop investigative strategy, including preparation of investigation plans based on reported allegation(s) and developed leads. Review electronically stored information and other forensic evidence to include email, phone, business records, and other third-party reports. Coordinate with subject matter experts and other stakeholders when conducting investigations. Conduct interviews of all participants in an investigation: reporting party (if known), direct and indirect witnesses, and subject(s) of the allegation(s). Prepare reports of investigation (or executive summaries in lieu of reports) documenting findings, case details, and conducting root cause analysis to identify contributing factors for substantiated misconduct. Conduct timely and thorough investigations, often managing multiple investigations at the same time.  Achieved by organizing, prioritizing, and planning multiple concurrent tasks daily. Provide periodic oral and written updates regarding case status to E&C management and other business leaders as required Assist in periodic reporting to necessary internal groups. Identify patterns of misconduct and escalate for remediation Document investigative referrals to other teams for review/action Submit weekly status reports on progress of investigations Who we're looking for Bachelor's Degree with f cus on Business, Human Resources, Employment Law, or Criminal Justice. Advanced degree preferred Five years' experience in professional experience conducting investigations into allegations of corporate misconduct, to include discrimination, harassment, and retaliation. Knowledge of and experience with investigating complex compliance matters, including fraud/financial crimes, corruption, and other ethics violations. In depth knowledge of the federal and state laws pertaining to civil rights, discrimination, harassment and affirmative action, as they apply to colleges and universities including the Equal Employment Opportunity Act of 1972 (EEO) required Demonstrated ability to compose clear, concise, timely and professionally written investigation reports, manage confidential information. Labor relations experience is strongly preferred. Demonstrated experience and job knowledge in federal and state employment laws Proficiency in MS Office products. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Ability to communicate effectively at all levels Ability to multi-task, manage several projects and excel under tight deadlines Ability to travel up to 30% of the time Certified Fraud Examiner certification preferred EEOC Investigator certification preferred Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional certification preferred This job description does not list all the responsibilities of the job.
