Application Engineer IV (The Vanguard Group, Inc. / Malvern, PA) -- Provide expert level system analysis, design, development, and implementation of applications and databases; direct business assessment and requirements analysis processes for the development of hardware and operating systems; integrate third party products; ensure expected application performance levels are achieved; ensure viability of IT deliverables; recommend development options, including design, build/buy, and vendor purchase; conduct testing, including functionality, technical limitations, and security; elevate code into the development, test, and production environments on schedule; provide follow up production support; submit change control requests and documents; provide subject matter expertise in software development methodology and development architecture standards; mentor and train staff with less experience; resolve elevated issues and recommend enterprise-wide improvements; participate in design, code, and test inspections throughout the life cycle to identify issues; explain technical considerations at related meetings, including those with internal clients; perform systems analysis activities; utilize thorough understanding of client business functions and technology needs as well as broad and deep understanding of technologies, tools, and applications, including those that interface with business area and systems, and is well versed on the latest technologies and tools supporting software development in the industry; interface with cross functional team members and communicate systems issues at appropriate technical level for each audience; utilize thorough understanding and compliance with Information Technology and Information Security policies and procedures, and verify deliverables meet requirements. Requires Bachelor's or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or closely related IT field and five years of experience in job offered or in IT position(s) including Programmer Analyst and/or Software Developer. Background in education, training or experience must include Java, HTML, JavaScript, TypeScript, Angular, Spring framework and AWS technologies including EC2, ECS, S3, Lambda, CloudFormation, DynamoDB, SQS and SNS. Company operates on hybrid model with three days in office and work-from-home available two days.
