Application Engineer III (The Vanguard Group, Inc. / Malvern, PA) -- Work with internal clients across multiple business units and responsible for search engine configuration, consultations, and implementing new features such as machine learning and natural language processing; install, configure, test, and maintain operating systems, application software and system management tools; evaluate existing systems and provide technical direction; oversee development of customized vendor software and hardware requirements; plan and implement systems automation as required for better efficiency; formulate and design security system in place to maintain data safety; oversee constant availability of application. Requires Master's in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electronic(s) Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or closely related IT field and two years of experience in job offered or in IT position(s) including Enterprise Search Developer and/or Software Developer; or Bachelor's and five years of experience. Background in education, training or experience must include experience working with search engines including Coveo (SaaS application development), IDOL, FAST, Solr and coding languages including Python, JavaScript, Java, LUA, PowerShell, CSS; working knowledge of Linux RHEL 7, or 8 and Windows 2012, 2016, or 2019; demonstrated understanding and implementation of cloud technologies (AWS); excellent communication, personal, and governance skills; demonstrated understanding of Agile techniques (Scrum and/or Kanban); demonstrated ability to collaborate with teams involved in project management, security, operations, and client service departments to resolve problems including conflict resolution, analytical, and decision-making skills.
