Summary of Role:

GlobalFoundries is seeking experienced professionals to support the management of OSAT (Outsourced Assembly and Test) manufacturing and development Quality in Malta, New York for our Aerospace and Defense end market. The core responsibilities of this role involve taking ownership of OSAT ‘s quality for wafer bump, sort, assembly, final-test and scan/bake/tape/tray outsourced operations.

This role includes but is not limited to monitoring of OSAT quality performance and driving improvements related to quality KPIs – wafer scrap, quality events, yield, Cp/Cpk , early problem detection, monitoring material for any defects reviewing engineering quality and manufacturing specifications, resolving quality issues, and more.

The ideal candidate shall demonstrate strong technical knowledge in semiconductor postfab manufacturing & test process and be a good team player with excellent analytical skills. The candidate must be prepared to travel to OSAT sites to conduct quality system and manufacturing process audits when required. The goal is to manage OSAT quality that exceeds GF and customer quality requirements.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Actively participate in issues / investigation at supplier's location that could impact GlobalFoundries.

  • Manage supplier quality excursion and drive corrective / prevention action plan including quality fan-out.

  • Review and ensure GF & customer specifications are cascaded to supplier for deployment.

  • Review and approve suppliers PCN, quality specifications, control plan, non-conforming lot disposition & quality KPIs.

  • Conduct product / process reviews / audits at suppliers.

  • Collaborate with GF stakeholders to resolve quality related matters concerning the supplier.

  • Interface with all levels of employees at suppliers

  • Actively participate in supplier continuous improvement activities.

  • Ensure supplier conforms to all quality guidelines established for aerospace and defense products.

  • Support new supplier qualifications and execute QMS audit for new supplier qual.

  • Support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements, and programs.

Other Responsibilities

  • Manage reliability lab appointed by GF to support package reliability test

  • Engage Test hardware/peripherals supplier supplying to GF internal test operation in US (Postfab) for problem solving where desired.

  • Other duties as assigned by manager.

  • Perform all activities in a safe and responsible manner and support all Environmental, Health, Safety & Security requirements and programs.

Required Qualifications:

  • Applicant must be a U.S. citizen

  • Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a SECRET level U.S. Government security clearance.

  • Bachelor's Degree in science, engineering or related field

  • At least 5 years of relevant working experience in supplier quality engineering management role, surveillance of suppliers’ quality system and quality control within the Aerospace semiconductor industry.

  • Familiar with military & quality standards such as ISO 9001/ IATF 16949/AS9100 / ISO 14001, Mil- Standard Mil-Prf-85285, Mil-Prf-85284, Mil-Standard 883, Ansi/Esd S20:20, DMEA - ITAR & Trusted foundry requirements.

  • Certified ISO 9001 / IATF 16949 auditors

  • Travel - Up to 10%. Required to perform Ad-hoc / planned manufacturing process or Quality management system audit at the OSAT.

  • Knowledge in Quality core tools e.g. MSA, FMEA, Control Plan, SPC, APQP, PPAP, VDA 6.3 Process Auditor, etc.

  • Knowledgeable in supplier selection and appraisal processes.

  • Familiar with semiconductor failure analysis techniques.

  • Fluency in English Language – written & verbal

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Ph.D or Master';s degree in science, engineering or related field

  • Hands on experience in bringing up an OSAT to support Aerospace & Defense device(s)

  • Knowledge in wafer bumping, assembly package processes, test services & wafer / package reliability test / requirements.

  • Establish quality guidelines for OSAT engaged for Aerospace and Defense manufacturing.

  • Hands on experience in managing APQP , PPAP management process

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Strong planning & organizational skills.

Expected Salary Range

$91,600.00 - $170,000.00

The exact Salary will be determined based on qualifications, experience and location.
