Description

Eliot is seeking an experienced Registered Dietitian with outstanding skills, experience with nutritional goal setting and how mental health can impact it. You will be empathetic and motivated to improve the lives of adult with mental illnesses. The Mental Health Division provides an integrated and comprehensive network of services to adults with psychiatric disabilities that are evidence based, provide rehabilitation and hope to those in services. Responsibilities:

  • Provide education and consultation to Persons specific to their health, diet, nutrition and level of activity.

  • Provide 1:1 training in specific individualized need areas to Persons related to their nutrition.

  • Develop and conduct groups and trainings for Persons and staff in general areas of health and wellness including nutrition and exercise.

  • Develop plans for GLE programs to prepare nutritious meals in collaboration with Persons. Facilitate groups at GLE programs related to nutrition and exercise.

  • Develop individualized meal plans to assist Persons in achieving their nutrition goals as well as improving their overall health.

  • Assist Persons and staff in developing plans for Persons related to their health, diet, exercise and nutrition that are realistic in terms of each individuals preferences, budgetary constraints, needs and abilities to achieve goals.

  • Develop nutrition plans with Persons suffering from serious medical conditions such as diabetes, obesity, heart conditions etc. Support these high risk Persons by meeting with them directly and assisting them in changing their lifestyles to achieve their goals.

  • Develop plans with Persons suffering from eating disorders to access nutrients and develop a healthy lifestyle.

    Schedule: 40 hours per week, flexibility between Monday- Friday, 8am-4pm hours.

    Salary: $57,680.00 salary

    Location: Community based services provided in the Metro North region with the office in Malden, MA. Car and Driver's license is required. Mileage reimbursed for community visits.

Experience

Preferred

  • Must have at least two years of experience working with people with disabilities, preferably people with severe and persistent mental illnesses.
