Shell HR Insights Consultant in Makati City, Philippines

We are looking for dynamic and experienced individuals to be part of Shell’s Human Resourcing organization to work with our Senior leaders and management to provide actionable HR Insights, focusing on key deep dive questions that matter most to the business.

What is the role

The Insights Consultant will establish and maintain relationships and build credibility, representing the team as knowledgeable, client-focused partner that generates insights and conclusions, and ensures that insights are turned into actions. As insights will be further used in HR related discussions and decisions it is pivotal for this person to have high sense of responsibility, integrity, and confidence in dealing with people data including confidential and sensitive elements.

The Insights Consultant will make a difference by helping the organization make the right choices and decision for its growth and support senior management to discover what`s happening and what they should do to improve business performance and people agenda.

In this role you will:

  • Establish a solid relationship with key stakeholders the role supports. Actively engage and understand priorities of the stakeholder group.

  • Gather, understand, and document detailed business questions from partners and requestors. Act as a thought partner on how to approach these questions with data. Focus on delivery of insights and recommendations (instead of a collection of visuals)

  • The role’s focus is not on producing repeated visuals or reports but on deep dive questions from business and HR that beyond the information already available in existing dashboards.

  • Follow up on recommendations and ensure actions from insights.

We will entrust you to:

  • Conduct data analysis and apply techniques to review extensive datasets, uncovering patterns, trends and opportunities using appropriate tools and software (Excel, Power BI, Power Point etc.) and leverage existing dashboards when available.

  • Review data for errors and inconsistencies

  • Summarize data in tables, charts, and graphs, analyzes, and interprets, translates findings into succinct, actionable business insights to best answer questions or challenges.

  • Prepare and deliver analysis and presentations building the story and finalizing conclusions and proposes recommendations.

  • Catch opportunities at partners meetings and proactively manage partners expectations.

  • Identify areas to increase efficiency and automation of the processes for example using Dashboard visuals.

  • Deliver key complex periodic reports. The most important ones are the Directorate People Packs.

  • Support insights driven HR capability building program.

  • Manage parallel priorities and complex projects ensuring high quality and on time deliverables.

  • Operate as subject matter expert in HR insights domain, applying a breadth of reporting and analytical tools, models, and techniques to answer a wide range of high-impact people-related business questions.

  • Stay updated on data insights best practises in and outside of Shell.

  • Must work-out-loud with other Consultants to enable best practice sharing, peer-to-peer coaching, adherence to Consultants Gold Standards and exemplary team performance.

What we need from you

To be an effective Insights Consultant you will work closely with Insights Analyst(s) who support consultants in their work especially with data gathering and analysis.

You will bring with you:

  • University degree in economics, HR, business, finance, computer science, marketing, or related field

  • Significant experience in reporting, data analysis or related field

  • All around knowledge on HR data including Talent, Recruitment, Learning, Rewards, benefits etc., and can use them effectively in answering business questions.

  • High proficiency in all existing HR dashboards.

  • Proven proficiency in Excel and Power Point

  • Experience in business intelligence, data analysis or related field

  • Strong Business partnering and Collaboration skills.

You are someone who has:

  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to synthesize large among of inputs quickly, interpret large data and providing insights and recommendations.

  • Strong business partnering and collaborative skills are essential in the engagement with different levels of stakeholders and the role requires the incumbent to be proactive and engaging.

  • Customer centric, listen to requirements and needs but also act as data professionals to give advice and challenge requests that do not make sense.

  • Ability to present effectively at senior management level – deliver outcome in a clear, consistent manner.

  • Proven ability to work creatively and analytically in a problem-solving situation.

  • Great communication/presentation skills & visualization skills – interested in storytelling techniques.

  • Strong business acumen with understanding of business/process priorities

  • Proven project management skills

  • Sound knowledge of HR processes and systems

  • The role requires being able to quickly understand the requirements of the different businesses and stakeholders to translate and deliver the needed output.

  • A track record of working successfully and independently with virtual teams and stakeholders.

  • Be resilient and flexible to work in ever changing environment, ability to adopt to complex and changing organization; ability to manage time schedule.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to draw insights from complex data sets, data visualization and transform those into storytelling and recommendations.

  • Mastery in data visualization
