Job Description

HTA Lead (Leadership position)

  • Based in the offices in Maidenhead with flexible working (3/2 model)

  • Reporting to the Head of HTA

Role Objectives

The HTA Lead will lead a team of HTA and Health Economics Managers to support the launch of AbbVie’s pipeline medicines, reporting to the Head of HTA and Health Economics. The HTA Lead will ensure the creation, development, and delivery of strategies and materials to secure optimal recommendations for our medicines across the UK. The position is office-based, working closely with the UK cross-functional team, and global and area teams.

Key responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of HTA Managers and HE Managers in the development of high-quality HTA submissions for AbbVie products in their therapeutic specialism

  • Provide training to foster team expertise in conducting HTA/HE activities in the relevant therapeutic specialism

  • Line management of the team including objective setting, professional development plans, workload planning and short- and long-term staffing strategies

  • Oversee effective HTA and HE strategy development across all assets and indications, ensuring appropriate, timely and effective communication with key cross-functional partners

  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge on key process and technical developments across the UK HTA environment

  • Support HE managers in development and adaptation of global HE deliverables and HTA managers in development of HTA strategy and submissions

  • Sign-off on HTA submissions and HE deliverables before submission

  • Manage HTA activity budget across all products in their therapeutic specialism portfolio

  • Active engagement with global functions to shape core materials (e.g. global value dossier) to meet current and future UK HTA needs

  • Build and maintain good relationships with key individuals within UK HTA bodies

Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • Degree in Life Sciences or other relevant area with advanced degree in Health Economics or related professional experience.

  • Experienced in leading teams and developing people.

  • A deep understanding of UK HTA processes and methods.

  • Skilled in developing strategies to secure positive recommendations from UK HTA bodies

  • Experience of developing submissions and materials for HTA bodies and managing the process

  • Experience and strong ability in working collaboratively across matrix functions.
