What you will do

The Manager R&D Translational Science is responsible for partnering with cross functional stakeholders to infuse consumer centricity into our product development learning plans. This individual will play a key role on identifying best in class consumer centric methodologies (internal and external) and defining their role in our testing portfolio. The Manager of R&D Translational Science will also be responsible for a small team (2-3) subject matter experts in consumer science, clinical and claims strategy; and provide daily coaching and development.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for a small team of translational science experts based in India to ensure successful execution of projects and initiatives

  • Identify methodologies to advance the company's translational science capabilities

  • Provide consumer and clinical research expertise and guidance to support the development of new products and experiences

  • Stay up to date with the latest advancements and trends in the relevant field and industry

  • Make recommendations on consumer centric methodologies that can be applied to various types of projects and incorporated into learning plans

  • Internal and external focus to identify best in class methodologies that can be leveraged across various projects. Define pilots for new methodologies

  • Partner with the multifunctional team to infuse product experience initiatives with consumer centricity. Identify the spaces where we need to learn to design and deploy innovation that is meaningful to consumers

  • Partner with various stakeholders (i.e. R&D teams, data scientists, commercial functions) to identify how to leverage consumer and clinical data for claims innovation

  • Expected to build in depth consumer expertise across APAC with focus on India, China & Japan.

Qualifications

What we are looking for

Required Qualifications

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's or Master's degree with approximately 8-10 years of industry experience is required, Biology/Chemistry/Chemical Engineering/Pharmacology degrees preferred but not mandatory

  • Relevant experience in translational science, with a proven track record of success

  • Being able to connect cross-functionally to determine testing needs for various projects. These projects can fall under any of our segments (Essential Health, Skin Health and Beauty, Self Care)

  • Previous experience of managing a team of consumer/market researchers in FMCG, Health care, or research agencies

  • Up to 10% international travel may be needed.

Desired Qualifications

  • Previous experience on consumer/market researchers, and/or claim support and substantiation. FMCG, Health care, or research agencies would be preferred, but open to relevant fields

  • Previous experience on various types of consumer and market research methodologies (i.e. qualitative, quantitative)

  • Previous experience on sensory evaluation methods and data interpretation.
