JOIN THE TEAM

The BASF Cyber Security Office (BCSO) is the first point of contact for all requests related to Cyber Security and Information Protection. The BCSO provides consulting, resolves requests from internal business partners and connects inquirers with the relevant cyber security experts and service owners. The team handles tracking, coordination, and documentation of requests and plays an active part in the implementation of the Cyber Security strategy to increase the security maturity of BASF

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Provide 1st and 2nd level consulting/support to our internal business partners to all incoming requests regarding Cyber Security, including guidance on the BASF Cyber Security Requirements.

• Responsible for documenting and tracking of all Cyber Security consultancy requests within the request management system.

• Consulting on Cyber Security services and matching with the responsible service owners, including the collection of customer feedback for continuous improvement.

• Responsible to capture meeting minutes during status and consultancy calls, escalation meetings, and key discussions.

• Responsible to create, document, and track all open tasks within the BCSO team itself to completion.

• Responsible to maintain internal knowledge base and documentation related to all BCSO processes within used tools.

• Generate and distribute BCSO status reports to desired audience based on defined schedules.

• Represent the BCSO within the GRC and other Cyber Security teams to ensure cross functional alignments.

• Development of best practices, security processes, and methods as a support for the implementation and promotion of operational excellence.

• Implement automation requests of BCSO internal processes.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Successfully completed degree in information technology, engineering, or business administration with a very high affinity for information technologies or a comparable vocational education and training.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English. (German communication skills are an advantage.)

• Ideally, you have preliminary skills in web applications, data bases, middleware, and networks.

• Highly proficient in Microsoft Office Suite software (Word, PowerPoint, Excel), ideally also having programming skills in Microsoft automation tools (PowerApps, Power Automate)

• Knowledge of Information Security Management Systems and ISO 27001 is an advantage.

• Ability to exercise independent judgment in actions regarding company matters including identifying, maintaining, and directing confidential issues appropriately.

• Ability to handle multiple priorities and to respond to constantly changing demands quickly and accurately from many sources.

• Must have cultural awareness and be able to interact effectively with all levels of personnel.

• Must demonstrate a proactive approach when handling calendar conflicts and upcoming meetings/events.

• Must approach your area of responsibility in a goal-oriented and results-oriented manner and are characterized by their pronounced customer orientation, dedication, and determination.
