Amazon Corporate Counsel, AWS Legal in Madrid, Spain

Description

Amazon Web Services (AWS) is at the forefront of the cloud computing industry providing IT infrastructure services such as on-demand compute capacity, storage, content delivery, database services, artificial intelligence and machine learning, and more. We are looking for a Corporate Counsel to support the AWS sales and marketing teams across Europe, the Middle East, and Africa.

The successful candidate will be responsible for drafting, negotiating and advising on strategic technology service agreements with enterprise customers and partners and provide legal support for local and regional services and initiatives. The role will also involve ongoing legal counsel and regulatory interpretation and guidance for senior executives and other business and legal team members on a variety of product development, operational, security, compliance, and public policy matters. The role includes participating in other legal team projects, including managing legal issues that arise in existing commercial relationships and handling customer and client inquiries.

This role will be based in Madrid, Spain. Some travel may be required.

Basic Qualifications

  • Exceptional academic qualifications.

  • Significant post-qualification legal experience (5+ years) at a leading global law firm, ideally with at least 4 years in private practice.

  • High degree of independence, initiative, decisiveness and creative thinking, as well as a desire to be challenged.

  • Excellent communication, drafting and negotiation skills.

  • Ability to prioritize in a fast-moving environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiar with cloud computing, IT infrastructure and telecommunications.

  • In-house experience at a technology or internet company.

  • Significant technology transactional and regulatory experience.
