Job Description: Performs work in the operation of a vehicle, including 15-passenger van, to assure safe transportation of persons receiving services through Life Choice Center Day Habilitation program in Madison County. The program is designed to assist persons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities access day habilitation services to increase their independent living skills. The Therapist Technician is responsible for the safe transportation to and from day habilitation services via a scheduled route and to assist people on entry and exit from vehicles, as necessary. Completes daily documentation of services provided, follows directions and exercise independent judgment in handling unusual situations arising with passengers. *This position must comply with CMSs Omnibus COVID-19 Health Care Staff Vaccination rules published in the Federal Register on November 5, 2021. COVID-19 vaccine immunization is required and must be completed prior to hiring. *Education: Require High School Diploma or GED. Working knowledge of rules and regulation involved in the safe and efficient operation of automotive equipment. *Experience: Prefer experience working with persons with an Intellectual or Developmental Disabilities. *Hours of Work: Split shift 6:30am9:00am and 2:00pm-4:30pm, Monday through Friday with some variance based on client and program needs. *Licenses/Certifications: Valid drivers license and must be insurable by Agency insurance. *Physical Requirements: Sight, hearing, ability to walk, talk, light carrying under 30lbs., ability to communicate effectively.
