Position Summary :

The Proposal Manager will work closely with Sales, Marketing, and other internal teams to support potential deals throughout the proposal lifecycle. The candidate must possess strong written presentation skills and be able to produce professional responses to client requests (RFIs, RFPs, RFQs, ITNs, sales collateral, and reports). Must demonstrate superior skills across toolsets (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat, etc.). The ideal candidate looks for ways to codify best practices and uses technology to advance the proposal management process.

What You Will Do:

  • Lead all aspects of proposal management, including coordinating with the deal team, leveraging best practices technology, and proactively reporting on bid performance.

  • Develop and deliver client proposals (RFP responses and unsolicited proposals) within client deadlines.

  • Assist account teams with pre- and post-proposal client presentations and supporting documentation.

  • Manage simultaneous and overlapping proposal cycles.

  • Maintain schedules for internal deliverables.

  • Utilize the Proposal Management content database for baseline response materials.

  • Collaborate with sales teams to articulate solutions aligned with client requirements.

  • Oversee proposal production and ensure on-time delivery to clients.

  • Prepare documentation and communicate process status to stakeholders.

  • Document template management in line with company branding.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in proposal management or related field

  • Strong writing and editing skills.

  • Excellent proficiency working with tools such as Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Adobe Acrobat.

  • Possess deep analytical skills for reviewing detailed data and summarizing it into meaningful reports.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Proven track record of enabling and partnering with cross-functional internal teams (sales, product, delivery, marketing).

  • Ideal candidate seeks to codify best practices and leverage technology for proposal management process advancement. Exposure to AI-assisted proposal development tools, processes, security, and data protection considerations. Familiarity with salesforce.com opportunity management is a plus.

  • Extensive experience working with state, local, and education (“SLED”) clients, including the unique requirements of government bids and contracting processes.

  • Experience working in a matrixed sales environment.

  • Experience working with Qvidian or other proposal management software. Familiarity with publishing tools such as Adobe InDesign is a plus.
