Job Title: Entry-Level Lab Assistant

Job Description

As a Lab Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting the microbiology team by preparing media, disposing of samples, cleaning and stocking the lab, and putting away glassware. You will assist in counting probiotics and, over time, learn and perform various aspects of lab testing including routine analysis, plating, and testing for pathogens like E.coli, Salmonella, and Listeria.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required

• 0-1+ years experience in a production/manufacturing or food service position

• Microbiology experience is a plus

• Ability to multi task

• High attention to detail - precise weights need to be taken

Work Environment

The role is based in a lab setting within a microbiology department that comprises about 20 employees. The environment is fast-paced, akin to production work, requiring efficiency as tasks can become repetitive depending on the group
