JOB REQUIREMENTS: Madison School & Community Recreation (MSCR) is Madison\'s public recreation provider. MSCR offers a wide variety of athletic, recreational, arts and enrichment activities and classes for all ages in an accessible, inclusive setting. Programs include swimming instruction, MSCR on the Move, arts & enrichment classes, youth summer camps, sports camps & clinics, adult & 50+ fitness, adult sport leagues including pickleball, softball and tennis, and a wide variety of outdoor pursuits including paddling sports, pontoon trips, camping, orienteering and challenge courses. As a department of the Madison Metropolitan School District (MMSD), MSCR also provides afterschool enrichment activities, clubs and sports as well as summer programming in Madison elementary, middle and high schools, Allied Learning Center and Meadowood Neighborhood Center. Afterschool clubs and sports include: arts & enrichment, homework/academic clubs, drama, dance, skiing, soccer, basketball, volleyball, cross country and much more! During the school year, MSCR offers Afterschool and Enrichment Programs at 15 MMSD Schools. Many of these sites have been awarded Community Learning Center (CLC) grants through the Federal Government. These programs offer curriculum to help support the students who need extra support in math and/or literacy. Program Description: MSCR offers a variety of aquatics programs, including swim lessons, aqua fitness, open swim, adapted rec swim, and lap swim. Job Description & Duties: Responsible for patron safety during MSCR programs. Accident prevention through active scanning and surveillance. Additional responsibilities during open swim and lap swim involve selling pool passes, signing in patrons, opening/closing the pool. Start Date: 9/16/2024 Program Dates: 9/16/2024-December 2024 Work Location: Various pools - West, East, La Follette, Memorial, Lapham. ***** OTHER EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum Qualifications: Current Lifeguard, CPR and First Aid certifications.
