MEDICA HEALTH PLANS Legal Regulatory Analyst Provider in MADISON, Wisconsin

JOB REQUIREMENTS: Description We\'re looking for a seasoned analyst to join our Legal Department, providing assistance and support to the provider network contracting team by gathering and managing resource information, researching and preparing memos and legal documents, reviewing provider complaints and related documents, researching statutes, regulations and court decisions, and preparing summaries of findings for Medica attorneys. Working with our team of Associate General Counsels (AGCs), Medica network personnel, and department leads, this Analyst will also organize, update, reach out to stakeholders for input, and maintain a robust, online resource library (the provider admin manual) for Medica\'s provider network across our multi-state service area including review and recommendations for contract alignment between Medica affiliates, review and draft correspondence to Medica\'s provider network, and advise Medica network personnel regarding provider contract language questions (under the supervision of the AGCs). On a daily basis, you\'ll work on a variety of tasks supporting Medica\'s provider network partners, which include: Lead the provider admin manual multi-departmental workgroup Draft provider contract templates/amendments Be the first point of contact for Network contract managers with provider contract template questions and requests for assistance with counterproposal language Research State/Federal laws, regulations, and sub-regulatory guidance Review provider network facing communications, including the provider monthly newsletter, provider alerts, and other legal/compliance related issues Experience gained in this role can create a pathway to our Associate General Counsel roles for candidates currently working on, or already in possession of their JD, or dedicated Project Management opportunities in other segments of the business. Qualifications: Bachelor\'s degree or equivalent experience (4 years) in related field, PLUS 7 years of work experience beyond a bachelor degree (years in pursuit of an advanced degree, including but not exclusively a JD, MPH or MHA will count toward the work experience requirement). Experience within the healthcare, health insurance or insurance industry. Experience from heavily regulated industries such as banking, financial services, etc. will also be considered. Skills and Experience Required: A JD is NOT a requirement for consideration, but past experience supporting attorneys or legal/regulatory functions would be beneficial in this role. Strong Project Management skills - able to organize, document, manage and improve complex department processes, workflows, and shared resources.
