JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: UW-Madison\'s School of Education is the #1 ranked school of education in the United States and has approximately 850 employees comprised of tenure/tenured track faculty, instructional academic staff, graduate assistants, and staff members. Our student body is comprised of approximately 3,600 undergraduate & graduate students. The Director of Human Resources is a key leadership position in the School of Education, with a focus on attracting, developing, and retaining excellent staff and faculty in a fast-paced and dynamic environment. Reporting to the Chief Financial Officer, this position requires an energetic and collaborative individual with sound judgment and a proven track record of leadership and problem-solving skills. This position plans, directs, and coordinates human resources management activities for the departments, centers, units, and programs of the School of Education to maximize the strategic use of human resources and maintain compliance with faculty and staff policies and procedures, employee compensation, benefits, recruitment, employee relations, training and development, and legal compliance; recommends and develops campus policy for graduate student appointments. Responsibilities: Plans, directs and manages strategic planning initiatives for multiple human resources (HR) functions such as recruitment, employment relations, performance management, compensation and classification, and/or payroll and benefits. Develops recommends, and implements approved policies and procedures and ensures strategy alignment.
