Position Overview The Facilities Engineer I will provide engineering support and document changes to existing and new qualified and non-qualified systems in support of infrastructure and production. This role will act as system administrator for building automation systems maintaining settings, sequences, alarm management, and developing improvement opportunities. The Facilities Engineer I will guide system design by quantifying requirements, calculating required capacities, reviewing drawings, and working with third-party designers. This position will rely on a strong background with facility systems, to include HVAC, plumbing, electrical, fire, and refrigeration, as well as a background in control systems design and administration. This is a hybrid role based out of our Madison, WI office location. Essential Duties Include, but are not limited to, the following: Provide engineering support to existing and new qualified and non-qualified building, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, and production support utilities. Create statements of work, perform engineering calculations to size equipment, solicit and evaluate vendor proposals, manage the procurement and contract process, and oversee technical aspects of installations or modifications to mechanical, electrical, plumbing, refrigeration, building automation, and fire-protection systems based on stakeholders\' input and in collaboration with internal and external partners. Perform engineering calculations to troubleshoot system operation and implement corrective actions to improve reliability and performance. Maintain building automation systems to ensure performance continually meets environmental requirements and root cause analysis results in the elimination of system-driven excursions; manage the system to provide meaningful warning of system or equipment failure and eliminate nuisance alarms.
