Job Summary

The Director of Development will play a crucial role in securing the necessary resources to support the mission of Badgerland Girl Scouts and to achieve the vision set by our Strategic Plan. Reporting to and in partnership with the Chief Marketing Officer, the director will lead and implement a comprehensive fund development strategy, forging key partnerships and cultivating a network of supporters to drive sustainable growth and impact. This role requires a fearless strategic thinker with exceptional communication and relationship-building skills, a passion for empowering girls, and a demonstrated track record of successful fundraising.

The Director of Development will create, execute, and evaluate all philanthropy strategies to ensure a diverse and sustainable revenue portfolio to support the mission. They will develop and effectively manage the organization’s philanthropy to build a consistent brand while strengthening relationships with key stakeholders.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field. At least 5 or more years of progressively responsible experience in fund development with proven results and in-depth of knowledge in major gift fundraising, corporate partnerships and foundation relations.

• Strong written and oral communication skills and the ability to share the impact of the Girl Scout mission in a compelling way Ability to translate data to inform fundraising strategies.

• Excellent leadership, management, and decision-making skills.

• High capacity to master and leverage data tracking platforms.

• Highly organized and detail-oriented with a bias towards execution and action.

• Skilled relationship builder with a demonstrated ability to motivate and collaborate effectively across every level of the organization.

• A proactive team player willing to pitch in at all levels while also holding a big-picture, systems-thinking mindset.

• Exceptional written and verbal communicator.

• Strong work ethic with a high degree of curiosity and a learning orientation; someone who leads and operates with a high level of integrity, confidentiality, and discretion.

• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, experience working with cloud-based platforms, and DonorPerfect (preferred).

• Be or become a registered member of the Girls Scouts of the United States of America; have a working knowledge of Girl Scout philosophy and programming, and be committed to the Girl Scout mission. Prior Girl Scout experience is not required.
