Title:

Behavioral Health Technician I- Part of a community-based recovery-oriented team of people who provide prevention and intervention services to adults from ages 18-70. As well as assisting adults engage in individualized service plans to gain confidence and skills towards living independently.

Job description:

Position Type: [Full-Time/Part-Time] Job Shift: [ 1 st /2 nd /3 rd ] Shift-Every Other Weekend.

This is a technical position that involves the direct care of adults with severe and persistent mental illness. This position helps provide a home like environment, which enables residents to earn and develop daily living skills as well as socialization and leisure skills.

  • Supporting clients in activities of daily living that can include assistance with meal planning, prepping, serving and storage of nutritious meals. Ensuring medication regime and compliance as recommended by their physician. Ensuring clients are maintaining proper personal hygiene, dressed appropriately, ensuring the house is always clean and is to CBRF regulations.

  • This position is responsible for the supervision and safety of consumers in both normal program settings as well as a variety of settings within the community. Ability to be able to converse clearly with client and other members within the community on a frequent basis.

  • Understanding and adhering to CBRF regulations as well as OSHA practices.

  • Work is performed largely in a group home setting. Group homes are open 24 hours per day 7 days a week.

Requirements for Role:

  • High School Diploma/GED is required.

  • Minimum of 1 years’ experience working with adults with severe and persistent mental illness is highly desirable.

  • Must be able to push/pull/lift/move objects weighing at least 50 pounds.

  • This position has the potential to work in a variety of environments both indoors and outdoors. Work areas may include loud noises, the use of stairs, various outdoor weather conditions and fluctuating temperatures.
