JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The University of Wisconsin-Madison Libraries are seeking a collaborative, innovative, forward-thinking strategic leader to serve in the role of Associate Dean of Libraries for Public Services. The Associate Dean (AD) provides senior leadership to guide the efforts of various campus libraries, programs, and services, and is actively involved in shaping and implementing public service aspects of the Libraries\' strategic plans and directions. Their duties include steering program development and assessment, as well as allocating resources to advance the Libraries\' mission. A key focus of this position will be advancing the teaching, learning, liaison, and outreach services offered by the campus libraries. The AD reports directly to the Dean of Libraries and serves on the Libraries Executive Council, chaired by the Dean. This council comprises other senior library leaders, such as the Associate Deans and senior administrative colleagues. The Associate Dean of Libraries for Public Services assumes the comprehensive coordination of teaching, learning, liaison, access, outreach, and public spaces and services across all campus libraries. Reporting directly to the Dean and Vice Provost for Libraries, the Associate Dean leads the development, communication, implementation, and evaluation of strategic directions and priorities pertaining to public-facing services provided by the campus libraries. In collaboration with senior library leadership, the Associate Dean participates in re-imagining and realigning library services and organizational structures designed to meet the emerging needs of the campus community. The Associate Dean engages in campus-wide initiatives alongside library governance groups, and works with consortial partners at the regional, state, national, and international levels, to ensure access to vital library services and programs, and to bolster the reputation of campus libraries across the profession.
