JOB REQUIREMENTS: Job Summary: The Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Madison invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor position in structural dynamics. We seek candidates with a vision to address societally impactful problems in aerospace, manufacturing, transportation, infrastructure, healthcare, energy, and/or communication, and strengthen and deepen the current research focus areas of the department. Areas of interest include complex mechanical systems, structural dynamics, acoustics and noise control, nonlinear dynamics, reduced-order modeling, system identification, engineered materials and structures. When appropriate to their research and teaching visions, candidates should leverage experimental and computational assets such as the Wisconsin Centers for Nanoscale Technology, Wisconsin Structures & Materials Testing Laboratory and the Center for High Throughput Computing.
