Manitou Equipment America, LLC Senior Manufacturing Engineer - Madison in Madison, South Dakota

Manitou Equipment America, LLC is currently seeking a Senior Manufacturing Engineer in Madison, South Dakota. This individual will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Plan, direct, coordinate, and continuously improve the manufacturing process and projects at the companys Madison plant, ensuring the efficient use of resources,
  • Respond to manufacturing issues and concerns to ensure products are produced to specifications and according to manufacturing schedules while insuring efficient use of resources.
  • Oversee the design of production machinery and will identify and recommend solutions to production problems related to materials, processes, and tooling.
  • Identify opportunities and implement changes to improve manufacturing methods using knowledge of manufacturing process, tooling and production equipment, quality control standards, and product design.
  • Design, develop, evaluate, and improve manufacturing processes; determine best materials and supplies to be used, and build appropriate fixtures for efficient and cost-effective manufacturing.
  • Prepare documentation for new manufacturing processes, engineering procedures, and equipment including bills of material, manufacturing routings, machine burdens, operations manuals, and new work centers.
  • Perform engineering activities in compliance with established company and manufacturing standards, engineering principles, customer requirements, and related specifications.
  • Create work instructions for new products to be manufactured.
  • Review production program equipment, hardware, and tooling and make recommendations for repairs or replacement.
  • Install and troubleshoot new manufacturing equipment; train others to operate new machinery.
  • Read current literature, participate in educational programs, attend professional conferences, and talk with colleagues to maintain knowledge of new and developing manufacturing technology, equipment, and applications; apply this knowledge to recommend and implement new technology and processes.
  • Process internal engineering change orders (ECOs) and incorporates the changes to ensure that they are effective.
  • Study and record time, motion, methods, and speed involved in performance of production and other worker operations to establish standard production rates, improve efficiencies, and ensure that product pricing accurately reflects required production time and labor.
  • Estimate production times, staffing requirements, and related costs for management decisions.
  • Confer with management, engineering, and other staff regarding manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other considerations to facilitate production processes.
  • Confer with customers and engineering staff to ensure that product design and tooling will support efficient production methods.
  • Work with vendors to determine part specifications and recommend the purchase of equipment and materials.
  • Utilize a variety of engineering tools and principles including the analysis of manufacturing capabilities, production schedules, and other important considerations to ensure the continuous improvement of the plants manufacturing processes and projects.
  • Work with a variety of technologies and tools including Google Suite software, computer-aided drafting (CAD) software, ERP software and PLM software.

The job is based out of Manitous Madison, SD location, but employee may work remotely up to 1 day per week, with national travel of up to 15%.[The salary range for the Senior Manufacturing Engineer at Manitou Equipment America, LLC is between $85,000 and $95,000 per year. Additional salary and benefits information available upon request.

Minimum requirements: Bachelors degree in Manufacturing or Engineering field and two years of experience as mechanical or manufacturing engineer for fabrication of construction, material handling and/or agricultural equipment, including work on welding issues, ap lication of production principles and techniques, experience in data analytics and experience with ERP and PLM software.
