This Position is for a A&P Operations Technician with a company located in Madison.

 

Job Summary: The A&P Operations Technician is responsible for the repair and overhaul of aviation mechanical components in various production areas, including NDI, Wheels/Brakes, Blowers/Motors, Landing Gear/Components, Sheet Metal, Propeller, and any other areas deemed necessary. This role requires extensive technical knowledge in the area assigned and familiarity with SAP. The technician will not have any managerial or leadership duties.

 

Duties And Responsibilities:Perform aircraft component overhaul and repair. Act as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the shop assigned. Maintain daily component status reports. Manage weekly component inventory and status reports using multiple sources of information. Interpret a variety of instructions in written, oral, diagram, or schedule forms. Prioritize daily workload based on program, management, and/or scheduling requirements. Plan and execute component repair activities.

Recognize or identify problems and provide input for solutions. Perform tasks under distracting or monotonous conditions without significant loss of thought process and efficiency. Operate hand and power tools. Read, understand, and respond to written instructions and logbook notations. Inform appropriate personnel of materials and equipment problems. Understand and use SAP to input and pull reports.

 

Education and Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent (GED) required. At least 2-3 years experience in general maintenance. At least 2+ years of experience in work directly related to aircraft component maintenance. FAA Airframe and Power Plant license required.

 

Physical and Environmental Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; and talk or hear.  The employee frequently is required to sit.  The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, and taste or smell.  The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.  Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.

Examples of work performed in this classification include, but are not limited to, the following tasks.  These tasks may be amended or other tasks may be assigned as necessary.

Act as an first line inspector to provide return to service authorization. Provide reports to management as required. Assign and direct work to be completed on Aircraft components. Write routine reports and correspondence to management

Provide guidance to team members by interpreting documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Planning and organizing all work within area of responsibility
