6.25 hrs/day Paygrade 4 $14.21/hr Replacing Jacqueline Adams Effective asap Position Summary Supports the teacher to insure the best possible learning experience for the special education children in a safe and secure environment while maintaining confidentiality. Duties and Responsibilities (These duties and responsibilities are judged to be "essential functions" in terms of the Americans With Disabilities Act or ADA) Assist one-on-one, small groups or classroom with students under the supervision of the teacher as directed. Assist teacher with completing academic tasks. Assist in engaging student with instructional activities developed by the teacher i.e. reading, writing, math, spelling, and life skills, etc. Maintain behavior and utilize behavior intervention when necessary. Assist children with toileting, as needed. Familiarize yourself with individual student requirements. Communicate with community, staff, and students to answer questions, disseminate or explain information.
