We are looking for:

We are currently looking for a Water & Waste Engineer for the EMEA region to join our team in Lyon.

We count on you for:

Main requirements for the job :

  • Support StarFactory roadmaps development & validation in the zone.

  • Support & monitor the implementation of high impact Water & Waste sustainability projects.

  • Contribute to Group activities on ESG data management & reporting such as CSRD. Consolidate Water & Waste data in the zone according to the Group policies & regulatory requirements. Identify gaps & work on mitigation plans to maintain desired trajectories.

  • Prepare & animate Quarterly reviews of Nature topics at Top sites in the zone, and with GBUs, collaborating with Biodiversity & Emissions topics leaders.

  • Manage Water Risk Mitigation procedures at selected sites in the zone.

  • Be the Water & Waste projects pipe expert in the zone, consolidating an in-depth understanding of key projects, their maturity level, impacts, economics, governance & integration into GBUs MTPs. Provide insights to internal management processes such as BFRs, Group Environment SteerCo’s etc..

  • Watch for emerging technologies and new market trends & opportunities. Lead early stage activities up to reaching Proof of concepts, business cases & actionable solutions for priority waste & water streams in the zone (leveraging external collaborations with innovative solutions providers and process engineering skills available in the company).

  • Be an outspoken promoter of Syensqo One Planet initiatives.

  • Support other Environmental initiatives & collaborate with other team leads when appropriate including SoCs, circular economy & energy transition.

  • Maintain a close collaboration with the Corporate HSE Environment team and a working knowledge of the main regulatory matters & environment policies in the countries where Syensqo operates.

You will bring:

  • MSc in Chemical Process Engineering or Environment protection technologies or a related technical discipline.

  • 3 years experience dealing with environment matters & industrial projects in the chemical industry or equivalent industrial sector.

  • Expertise in water & waste management technologies is a plus.

  • Passion for sustainability.

  • Strong analytical skills & ability to simplify problems and propose actionable solutions.

  • Effective communication & collaboration skills.

  • Demonstrated ability to lead diverse & transversal groups of colleagues & business partners to achieve desired results.

  • Self starter with strong focus on actions & delivery mindset.

  • Treats others with dignity and respect.
