Associate Director, Transfer Advising, Office of International Programs
SALARY:$63,602.35- $72,391.92
LOCATION:Lynnwood, Washington
DESCRIPTION:
Under the direction of the Executive Director of the Office of International Programs the Associate Director, Transfer Advising, serves an important role in providing services for international students to support their successful enrollment and progress toward reaching their goals. This person is a leader of the college's transfer advising services for international students and is a member of a dynamic advising team that is passionate about student success.
This role supports the College's mission of teaching, learning and community through student immigration, transfer and academic advising. This role plans and implements transfer activities including transfer fairs, university visits to campus, and workshops. This role also actively participates in other student support services including activities, orientation, and workshops.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- University Transfer Advising, including researching universities' admission requirements and application policies, working in tandem w/ students in creating a complete academic road map (with specific course loads and university application tasks for every quarter a student is enrolled), and reviewing transcripts
- Serve as SEVIS Designated School Official (DSO) and provide complex immigration-related advising pertaining to obtaining and maintenance of F-1 student non-immigrant status, including course load requirements, employment, travel and reinstatement of status.
- Manage partnerships with university partners, including creating and updating university transfer agreements
- Register new students into courses based on program of study and English and math placements
- Plan and lead biannual transfer fairs
- Create and lead workshop sessions for international students on transfer advising and other advising topics
- Participate in quarterly New Student Orientation activities, including leading workshops
- Disseminate transfer advising information to OIP team and college community, may include training other staff members
- As part of a dynamic and multifaceted team, fill in and collaborate with other OIP service areas when needed
This is an exempt position that reports to the Executive Director of the Office of International Programs.
