Eastern Bank HR Business Partner in Lynn, Massachusetts

The VP, HR Business Partner, will report to a Sr. HR Business Partner. This VP will contribute to the creation and execution of the company-wide culture and employee experience. This individual will work with multiple business lines to provide consulting support for a full range of HR services including management consulting, employee relations, employee development, compensation management, organizational development, talent acquisition, and talent management. This individual will be a leader within the Human Resources function across Eastern.

Requirements:

  • Partner with Senior Business Leaders of the organization to align business and talent strategies to achieve company objectives.

  • Maintain an effective level of knowledge about the business unit and understanding of its goals, culture, and competition.

  • Interpret data and metrics to analyze people issues and trends; identify solutions as needed.

  • Participate in establishing plans to effectively communicate business strategies and objectives and implementing change initiatives designed to support those goals.

  • Work with managers at all levels of the organization to implement and lead initiatives related to employee engagement and employee development.

  • Consult with management on human resource-related issues. Provide HR policy guidance and interpretation. Work closely with management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, increase productivity and retention.

  • Provide expertise, guidance and coaching to leaders in managing and resolving highly sensitive and complex employee relations matters.

  • Provide project management and support process improvement within the Human Resources department.

  • Assess and anticipate HR related needs and communicate needs proactively within HR and business management to develop integrated solutions.

  • Formulate partnerships across the HR function and with line management, and employees to deliver value-added service.

Problem Solving & Decision Making :

  • This individual will be expected to be a self-starter working under minimal supervision.

  • This individual will be accountable for making decisions appropriate for their position and level.

  • This individual has no direct supervisory responsibilities but does serve as a coach and mentor to other positions.

  • This individual will be expected to assess challenges and communicate solutions proactively.

REQUIREMENTS :

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of skills and training

  • At least 10+ years of related Human Resources Business Partner experience.

  • Demonstrated success as a true partner to managers to drive strategic people-related change in a business.

  • Established reputation as a strong and effective business partner.

Skills/Knowledge:

  • Experience in talent management, organizational development, employee relations and recruitment.

  • Proven ability to proactively translate business objectives to effective HR strategies.

  • Collaborate effectively with and influence peers and other leaders in making business decisions to solve complex problems.

  • Ability to develop strong trusting relationships to gain support and achieve results.

  • In-depth knowledge of legal requirements related to management of employees.

  • Ability to lead special projects and teams by establishing project action plans and executing against plans.

  • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated experience making data driven decisions.

  • Business acumen.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and Oracle HR systems.

  • Experience preparing and presenting executive summaries.

  • Experience with merger and acquisition activity preferred.

  • Bilingual Spanish speaking abilities preferred.

Working Conditions:

  • Hybrid working environment (remote and onsite)

  • Some travel within Massachusetts and Southern New Hampshire required
