BWXT is currently seeking an IT Application Project Coordinator for its Lynchburg, VA location or Remote!

The IT Application Project Coordinator will join our Business Systems Digital Transformation team and be responsible for assisting in the planning, execution, and completion of IT projects related to the Business Systems Digital Transformation. This role involves coordinating between various stakeholders, tracking project progress, managing schedules, and ensuring that project milestones and deadlines are met. The Project Coordinator, Business Systems Digital Transformation supports the project team by providing administrative assistance and facilitating communication among team members.

Essential Functions/Responsibilities:

  • Assists in defining project scope, goals, and deliverables.

  • Develops and maintains detailed project schedules, work plans, and resource allocation.

  • Coordinates project activities, resources, and information.

  • Serves as the primary point of contact for project-related inquiries.

  • Facilitates communication between project team members and stakeholders.

  • Prepares and delivers regular status reports, project updates, and meeting minutes.

  • Organizes and participates in project meetings, including taking detailed notes and ensuring follow-up on action items.

  • Maintains comprehensive project documentation, including plans, schedules, and status reports.

  • Tracks project performance, specifically to analyze the successful completion of short and long-term goals.

  • Uses project management tools to monitor and track project progress, including Microsoft Project, Teams Planner, and Microsoft Excel.

  • Identifies and manages project risks and issues (through the RAID log), escalating them as necessary.

  • Assists in the development of risk mitigation strategies and contingency plans.

  • Provides administrative support to the project team, including scheduling meetings, managing/booking resources, and managing project-related deliverables/reports.

  • Coordinates and manages logistics for project-related travel and meet-ups.

  • Ensures that all projects adhere to the organization’s quality standards and methodologies.

  • Conducts quality assurance checks on project deliverables.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

    Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Five (5) years of experience in project coordination for IT Projects, including applications, implementations, or go-lives.

  • Familiarity with project management methodologies, such as Agile, Scrum, and Waterfall.

  • Experience with project management software, such as MS Project, Smartsheet, etc.

  • Prior experience implementing IT application projects, application deployment and upgrade projects.

  • Demonstrated experience with all aspects of project management including testing, training, change management, go-live and application support.

  • Must be a U.S. citizen with no dual citizenship.

  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) clearance.

  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.

  • Superior written, oral, and interpersonal communication skills.

    Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of SAP/Oracle ERP Systems.

  • Experience implementing enterprise level IT application projects .

Pay: $ 62,000 - $ 97,000

The base salary range for this position in VA at the start of employment is expected to be between $62,000 and $97,000 per year. However, the base salary offered is based on local job market factors, and may vary further depending on factors specific to the selected job candidate, such as job-related knowledge, skills, experience, and other objective business considerations. Subject to these considerations, the total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, such as an annual cash incentive in addition to a full range of medical, retirement, and/or other benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided at such time the selected job candidate receives an offer of employment. If hired, the selected job candidate will be employed 'at-will,’ unless employed at a location and in a position subject to a collective bargaining agreement. The company further reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment, compensation or benefit program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, company or individual department/team performance, and other market factors.
