Job Description:

In this part-time role, the hired candidate will be tasked with completion of a 2-year rotational development program while earning a sponsored Associate Degree in Computer & Electronic Technology - Computer Networking at Central Virginia Community College. Must be capable of learning to use a variety of test equipment, logging information in technical databases, and have a basic technical aptitude. Candidate may be responsible for conducting tests on a variety of software and hardware products. Basic troubleshooting competency is required. This will include troubleshooting product, subassembly, and circuit board failures to component level. Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment with a cross-functional team.

Essential Functions:

  • Craft high quality proposal text and drawings that clearly and effectively describe the technical solutions being offered

  • Participate in discussions and presentations with customers, consultants, vendors and other L3Harris personnel as necessary to advance projects

  • Formally present technical solutions and product information to customers, professional organizations, and consultant groups for the designs developed through the proposal process

  • Coordinate technical transition of design to implementation system engineer after contract is awarded

  • Perform site visits and analyze existing customer technical assets

  • Travel 10%, Sometimes required working extended hours

    Qualifications:

  • Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent with 0 to 3 years of prior related experience or current high school Senior within 4-months of graduation.

    Preferred Additional Skills:

  • MS Office programs such as Word, Excel, and Outlook

  • Regularly demonstrates a positive attitude

  • Strong Customer focus

  • Ability to work in a team environment

  • Capable of identifying problems and contributing to process improvements

  • Strong communication skills

  • Willingness to work and learn in fast-paced production environment
