As a Specialist Solutions Architect focused on Microsoft on AWS, you will have the opportunity to accelerate our customer's adoption of Microsoft Workloads on AWS for our Europe North customers.

The emphasis is on working directly with customers to develop cloud migration and/or adoption strategies as it relates to their Microsoft systems. Microsoft Specialist Solution Architects at AWS typically do not only work on their customers' Microsoft Migration strategy, they also oversee the overall IT environment and look for options to integrate AWS services including GenAI to optimize business processes.

The ideal candidate will possess deep technical skill in both Microsoft On-Prem solutions and cloud computing as well as customer facing skills that will enable you to represent AWS well, not only to customers and IT executives but also to the broader Microsoft community including .NET developers, and Infrastructure architects. The ideal candidate should also have demonstrated the ability to think strategically about business, product, and technical challenges. Building on successful migrations, demonstrating experiences and concrete project executions in application modernization would be a plus.

AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector. The AWS Global Support team interacts with leading companies and believes that world-class support is critical to customer success. AWS Support also partners with a global list of customers that are building mission-critical applications on top of AWS services.

Key job responsibilities

As a Specialist Solution Architect MSFT on AWS, you will be responsible for designing solutions to support customers to bring their Microsoft workloads to AWS. Specialist Solution Architects are deep technical experts in Microsoft technologies who work with customers every day and collect demand signals influencing the AWS product roadmap and strategic partnerships for Microsoft Workloads. You will also identify gaps in AWS products or feature sets based on customer insights and partner with internal product teams and account managers to win strategic customer workloads and Data Center migrations. You will be working closely with Specialist Sales experts to deliver the desired customer outcomes. You will develop thought leadership and assets in the context of the Microsoft Workloads service domain and will be speaking at public events.

The Specialists Team is part of the AWS Sales, Marketing, and Global Services (SMGS) organization, which is responsible for driving revenue, adoption, and growth from the largest and fastest growing small- and mid-market accounts to enterprise-level customers including public sector.

About the team

The role is part of the larger Europe North Specialists team. This team positions AWS as the best place to run crucial workloads such as MSFT, SAP, AI/ML, Analytics and Data. Our team helps customers to adopt AWS cloud capabilities at scale.

The Specialists team includes business development, specialist sales, and specialist solutions architecture experts. You’ll provide expertise across the entire life cycle of an AWS customer initiative, from developing ideas for new services to accelerating the adoption of established businesses. Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics or equivalent

  • Experience developing technology solutions and evangelising end-to-end technology roadmaps that guide IT transformations toward cloud computing

  • Experience in specific technology domain areas like software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data and analytics

  • Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences and at C-level, including training, workshops, publications

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of distributed systems design and implementation or equivalent

  • Knowledge of large scale automation and workflow management or equivalent

  • Knowledge of database design and implementation or equivalent

  • Knowledge of presentations and whiteboarding skills with a high degree of comfort speaking with internal and external executives, IT management, and developers

  • Experience architecting, migrating, transforming or modernizing customer requirements to the cloud
