This posting will be used to fill one intermittent Automobile Driver position at the Minnesota Veterans Home-Luverne. This position will primarily work the day shift, 5:45 AM - 11:45 AM.
The primary responsibility of this position is to transport residents to appointments. The Automobile Driver plans routes and arranges vehicle schedules to ensure residents arrive promptly for appointments. The Automobile Driver is also responsible for fueling, cleaning and maintaining vehicles.
Minimum Qualifications
Must possess and maintain a valid driver's license
Basic knowledge of auto mechanics to perform routine maintenance tasks such as checking tire pressure, checking fluid levels, lubrication and cleaning the vehicle
Human relations skills sufficient to interact productively with residents, staff and others
Preferred Qualifications
Experience working in a long-term care facility
Time management skills sufficient to prioritize and maintain schedules
Additional Requirements
This position requires successful completion of the following:
A Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) background study may be conducted on the top finalist(s) for this position. When conducted, a finalist must pass the DHS background check.
A Tuberculosis (Mantoux) screening (or chest x-ray) is required prior to employment.
Finalists will be required to pass a driver's license check.
Employee reference checks will be conducted on all finalists. This may include a review of documentation related to job performance. It also includes contact with the applicant's former employer(s).
