Lockheed Martin Mod/LO Aircraft Lead, F-35 - Level 4 in Luke Air Force Base, Arizona

What You Will Be Doing

This position will be located at Luke AFB, Arizona, supporting the F-35 modification, repair, overhaul, and low observable aircraft production lines. Possible domestic and international travel maybe required. Technician/Mechanic 4 Shift Lead Basic Qualifications are: possesses 8 or more years of cumulative experience in the technical field; possesses advanced skill & proficiency, performs consistent work with a high level of accuracy, executes schedule priorities, evaluates skills & trains entry level employees, mentor's workforce, enforces team quality, identifies resource gaps for deadlines and requires minimal oversight.

Qualified Candidate will: Communicate with management (SSR) daily on status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed. Report attendance (tardiness, absences) and job performance (quality, quantity) issues to SSR immediately.

Provide daily safety briefing: Ensure all safety & anti-fall protection equipment is employed/positioned correctly prior operation, ensures good housekeeping and safety practices are enforced, report/document all injuries immediately. Assign team members daily work assignments ensuring workforce follows appropriate technical instructions, provide technical assistance, and set maintenance priorities.

*Read and interpret F-35 engineering drawings, technical manuals, structure repair manuals, understanding symbols, flags, and general notes - Identify aircraft locations by station, butt-line, and waterline as shown on engineering documentation and technical orders. Work with precision measuring instruments, micrometers, calipers, tape measures, and standard scales. Utilizes tools to include but not limited to drills, angle motors, shears, drill press, and pneumatic riveter.

*Fabricate detail parts such as shims, splices, gussets, angles, brackets, doublers, stiffeners, and patches - Use shop aids to facilitate assembly and installation as required.

Repairs, replaces and overhauls aircraft structural systems to ensure airworthiness. Determines feasibility and method of repairing/replacing/restoring malfunctioning, damaged, or low observable components. Work typically requires a detailed understanding of blueprints, aircraft drawings and low observable coating applications.

*Must be available to work a flexible schedule as required to keep aircraft modifications on schedule. This position is for a highly motivated person to be responsible for performing aircraft modifications, and low observable maintenance on all Lockheed Martin Platforms. Must be able to read and interpret technical data. Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access and compliance with government personal readiness requirement.

*Record data and procedural information for future use by others. Improvises shop aids to facilitate fabrication, application or assembly operations. Fabricates shims, brackets and plates as required and performs assembly operations such as trimming, filing, drilling, riveting, reforming and fitting of parts and details, and removing burrs or other surface imperfections as required.

*Work in a safe and efficient manner while maintaining a clean, FOD-free work area.

Physical Demands:

Regularly required to lift up to 50 pounds and perform repetitive movements, work overhead, use hands to grasp, handle, and/or feel, reach with hands and arms. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, squat, crawl, and twist.

*Must be a US Citizen. This position is located at a facility that requires special access.

* Must have an Interim Secret Clearance for

consideration.

Basic Qualifications:

• At least 8 years experience with Fighter aircraft maintenance.

• Leadership/supervisory/ management experience.

• Knowledge and application of Quality Assurance practices.

• Application of aircraft inspection and verification/validation techniques.

• Ability to read and interpret Engineering drawings and specifications and apply their intent to evaluate acceptance of quality products.

• Knowledgeable in planning and/or other aircraft work instructions.

• In-depth knowledge of aircraft structures, systems, and/or aircraft Coatings applications, specifications, and inspection criteria.

• Knowledgeable of FOD and Tool Control processes.

• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.

Desired Skills:

• In-depth knowledge of F-35 aircraft structures and/or systems

• Low Observable Coatings application.

• In-depth knowledge of F-35 Coatings applications, specifications, and inspection criteria.

• Able to attain proficiency in Aircraft Logistics Information System (ALIS).

• Knowledge of AS9100 Quality Management System Requirements.

• Ability to work independently and without direct supervision.

• Excellent teaming skills

• Proficiency in writing non-conformance documents

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Security Clearance Statement: This position requires a government security clearance, you must be a US Citizen for consideration.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.

Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.

Schedule for this Position: Non- standard 40 hour work week as assigned by leader
