Our Service Unit Global Intellectual Property is one of the biggest inhouse IP units in Germany. We are responsible for all services relating to patents, trademarks, trade secrets, plant variety protection, copyrights, designs and IP Intelligence, as well as all IP-contracts. We are a global team servicing the entire BASF group and work in close alliance with the operating business units as well as with the research and technology platforms. In this way we create a basis for future business success and actively influence BASF's competitive situation.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Within our unit Intellectual Property - Legal, you will be the global contact person in the field of intellectual property law for specific units in the areas of Research & Development, Marketing and Production (with the exception of Patent Law), taking advances in digitalization into account.

• Your tasks include drafting and negotiating contracts in this area of law, in particular research and development and license agreements.

• In addition, you provide support for the trademark, design and domain portfolios of certain divisions.

• This also includes activities geared for obtaining, enforcing and defending trademark protection, drafting trademark license agreements as well as providing advice on issues related to the "Act against Unfair Competition" law.

• You advise the business units on all legal aspects of intellectual property and thus contribute to their success in the market.

QUALIFICATIONS

• completed degree in law, either in combination with professional experience (ideally in the field of intellectual property rights) or in combination with in-depth theoretical knowledge in the field of intellectual property rights (including the "Act against Unfair Competition")

• good understanding of business contexts and interest in products and their marketing

• openness and curiosity with regard to the challenges posed by advances in digitalization in the fields of research, development and innovation

• business fluent in English and German

• distinct willingness to perform and ability to work in a team
