In our Pharmaceutical development department at the Ludwigshafen site, you will be working in a team of talented people and experienced experts toward developing tomorrow's products. In cutting-edge laboratories, you will be setting highest standards in the competitive field.

For the Biologics Analytical PDS&T Department at AbbVie’s Ludwigshafen site in Germany, we are seeking an experienced Bioassay Expert / Scientist S&T (all genders) to join our S&T team. Our team is developing state-of-the-art, innovative potency assays for biologics. This includes the development of different potency assay formats (cell-based and binding assays) and driving scientific initiatives.

Your responsibilities:

  • Development and validation of protein analytical methods; in particular bioassay and ELISA methods

  • Support for internal and external analytical laboratory activities

  • GMP-compliant conduct and documentation of tests, preparation of laboratory reports in German and English and support of the documentation for regulatory submissions

  • Participation and independent communication in local / global meetings and cooperation with neighboring sites in Ludwigshafen as well as globally

  • Development of concepts for and performance of instrument qualification and support of external service providers

  • Participation in scientific initiative and infrastructure projects

Qualifications

That´s how you make a difference:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent education with typically 5 years of experience, or Master’s Degree or equivalent education with typically 2 years of experience.

  • Strong analytical skills, in-depth knowledge and hands-on experience in eukaryotic cell culture and cell-based assay development as well as binding assays (e.g. ELISA, Surface Plasmon Resonance, etc.)

  • Skilled in the field of designing and qualifying in vitro cell-based assays to reflect the molecule’s relevant mode of action

  • Highly motivated, self-driven and results-oriented with excellent written and oral communication and presentation skills

  • English and German language proficiency is essential

  • Experience with statistical analyses (including statistical software, e.g. JMP, PLA) and design of experiments, as well as script programming is desirable

  • Experience in the GMP field is a plus
