St. Joseph Health Lead Security Communications Representative - Full Time/Day in Lubbock, Texas

Job Summary:

Under general supervision, is responsible for directing the day-to-day operations of the communications room within the Security Department, ensuring implementation and compliance with departmental and CHS campus policies and procedures. Responsible for supervising and operating communication equipment using electronic surveillance equipment, voice activated intercom systems and multiple intrusion, panic, and picture alarms. Will be the administrator for various security systems located at CHS. Responsible for the continued education and training of veteran personnel and the initial training of new personnel. Collaborates with other Supervisors and Director of Security to maintain aggressive approach to progressive training. Provides leadership necessary to generate teamwork among personnel, in order to successfully fulfill the department’s mission.

Essential Functions:

  1. Responsible for directing the day-to-day operations of the communication’s

room within the

Department, ensuring implementation and compliance with all departmental

and CHS campus policies and procedures.

  1. Responsible for being the Administrator to various security systems. This

includes operating computer software used in the security systems and

working with the contractors for those systems. Trouble-shoots and

diagnoses repair and maintenance needed for the dispatch center

communication equipment and makes necessary recommendation for

correction.

  1. Directs and monitors closed circuit monitors and alarm panels, and

dispatches or notifiesppropriate personnel when potential criminal activity or

safety hazards have been observed.

  1. Maintains appropriate logs of daily radio communications received from shift

personnel, records,and prepares special reports.

  1. Collaborate with various CHS campus department personnel and external

agencies to gather and exchange information; promote departmental services

provided to the campus community.

  1. Evaluate and resolve complaints in a courteous and professional manner.

Refer unresolved complaints or unsatisfied customers to the proper sources

for assistance.

Minimum Position Qualifications:

Education: High School diploma or related education/experience

Experience:

Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Supervisor and in the use of computer software preferably in a health care or campus environment.

Training: Job will require 40 hour training with the Hirsch Company in California provided by CHS

License/Certification: Texas (class C) Driver’s License.

Preferred Position Qualifications:

45 hours or more of higher education course work

Documented customer service training
