Position Description:
Assists a manager with the management of a sub unit within a department. Plans, organizes and develops goals and procedures. Represents the sub unit to administrators, outside agencies and others on relevant matters. Supervises subordinate staff.

Major/Essential Functions:
Monitor food preparation methods, portion sizes, freshness, and presentation of food. Ensure that food is prepared according to food safety guidelines and is presented in an acceptable manner.
Count money and process deposits. Ensure proper handling of cash by employees, particularly cashiers.
Manage staff, prepare work schedules/determine staff requirements and assign duties. Coordinate assignments of cooking personnel to ensure economical use of food and timely preparation.
Interview, hire and train new employees and develop existing staff.
Knowledge and experience in food products and preparation of food.
Maintain food inventories and keep inventory records.
Order and receive food and beverage deliveries, check delivery contents to verify product quality and quantity.
Thorough knowledge of food safety preparation including temperatures, hold times, cross-contamination, etc.
Complete required university/departmental/franchise training.
