Job Summary:

Reporting to the Sr Director Operations and Software Asset Management, Manager Software Asset Management (SAM) Demand Management, shall assist in the day to day and strategic development of the SAM program at UKG.

Job Description:

As a Manager, Software Asset Management (SAM) Demand Management you will be responsible for daily and strategic management of demand for software license consumption and utilization at UKG. This role will be instrumental in maturing the demand management model. Partner with internal procurement operations and external business owners to drive benefit realizations for total UKG.

Specifically, you will:

Demand Forecasting and Planning:

Develop and implement strategies for demand forecasting and planning to align software license consumption with business needs.

Analyze historical data and market trends to predict future software license requirements.

Stakeholder Collaboration:

Collaborate with internal procurement operations and external business owners to understand software needs and ensure alignment with business objectives.

Facilitate regular communication with stakeholders to gather input and provide updates on demand management activities.

Optimization and Utilization:

Identify opportunities for optimizing software license usage and reducing costs.

Monitor software utilization and make recommendations for reallocating licenses to maximize value.

Tool and Process Management:

Oversee the deployment and management of tools used for demand forecasting and software asset management.

Continuously improve demand management processes and tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

Reporting and Analytics:

Generate regular reports on software demand, usage, and optimization efforts for leadership and other stakeholders.

Utilize data analytics to provide insights and drive informed decision-making.

Risk Management:

Identify and mitigate risks associated with software demand and usage.

Develop contingency plans to address potential shortages or overages in software licenses.

Policy and Compliance:

Ensure compliance with software licensing agreements and policies.

Work with the Procurement Team and Legal department to interpret software agreements and ensure usage aligns with license terms.

Training and Education:

Partner in the development and delivery of training programs to educate stakeholders on software demand management practices and tools.

Partner with SAM leadership to build and manage an internal enterprise-wide license education program.

Project Management:

Lead and manage projects related to software demand management, including optimization and remediation initiatives.

Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure successful project execution.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Information Systems/Technology, Engineering, or equivalent work experience.

Experience:

10+ years of experience in Technology based Procurement/Sourcing, IT or SAM roles.

Skills and Knowledge:

Knowledge of Software Asset Management principles and practices with a focus on demand management.

Familiarity with product use rights for major publishers (e.g., Oracle, Microsoft, Adobe, Symantec, IBM, VMware).

Understanding of asset management tools and technologies.

Familiarity with hardware technology and configurations, including virtualization.

Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to communicate with both technical and non-technical teams.
