Home Equity Lending Specialist – Lowell, MA

What You’ll Do:
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES:
Interviews home equity borrowers and initially underwrites home equity loan applications. Proactively obtains and assists with the acquisition of required loan documentation in conformance with underwriting guidelines.
Facilitates the placement of all orders including appraisals, title certifications, flood determinations and necessary disclosures including the preparation of commitment letters as directed by the Underwriter.
Informs customers, lenders, branch staff and other team members of loan approval/adverse action.
Attends branch and team regional sales meetings in assigned region to promote overall department sales effort, discusses home equity products and shares lead/opportunities with peer sales team members.
Promotes a positive sales culture through exceptional quality service and participation in the Bank’s Referral Incentive Programs.
Observes experienced workers to acquire knowledge of methods, procedures, and standards required for performance of developmental duties.
Attends company-sponsored training and web-based classes.
Exceeds customer expectations by following the guidelines outlined in the Customer Experience Program.
Performs an initial underwrite on all home equity line files according to Bank guidelines.
Makes recommendations for approval, denial or counteroffer for loans reviewed to Underwriter or Management.
Performs an in-depth financial analysis on customer files to include analysis of customer tax returns and determination of qualifying income.
Determines how customers financial situation interfaces with Bank guidelines and makes appropriate recommendation to customer-based guidelines.
Explains equity loan product features to borrowers and how features may impact their ability to service the debt.
Facilitates Home Equity Lending Training for Branch Network.
Assists with the creation of additional home equity products and conducts appropriate competitor surveys.
Performs all duties consistent with applicable Federal and State laws and regulations as well as Bank policies.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
This position is Hybrid, Remote, or Onsite. Candidates from MA, NH, and ME only.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree from a four-year college or university and
One to two years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
