Overview

The Strategic Account Executive, GPO Partnerships is responsible for overall cultivation of the relationship between PharMerica and the Group Purchasing Organization or Strategic Client partner; including assisting in business development connection, including lead generation, coordination of sales pursuit, and fostering ongoing support of GPO member and Association to PharMerica.

Working in conjunction with the VP of Strategic Accounts and Partnerships, the Strategic Account Executive plays a pivotal role in developing strategies for growth between GPO and sales team. This role has primary responsibility for identifying new opportunities and supporting a monthly cadence with partner organizations in collaboration, communication, and connecting PharMerica sales team in pursuit of these opportunities.

Another key responsibility is the successful renegotiation of GPO membership renewals with client partner and marshalling necessary resources to communicate benefits of PharMerica pharmacy services.

The Strategic Account Executive will work in conjunction with the Strategic and Local Account Management teams to retain member clients and ensure their overall satisfaction with PharMerica pharmacy services.

The Strategic Account Executive will collaborate across all functional departments including sales, operations, clinical, and account management to ensure client satisfaction of the partner membership.

This role requires the ability to understand and assess gaps, make informed decisions and implement new approaches and ideas that ultimately assist the organization in improvements in client engagement and client opportunity management, issue resolution, and growth.

The successful candidate will have experience as a leader and working collaboratively in a matrix environment, the ability to manage multiple projects and priorities from initiation to completion, as well as strong business agility.

This position is remote.

Applicants can live anywhere within the Continental USA.

Responsibilities
    Serves as primary liaison with GPO membership in executing a strategic business plan for growth and retention with targeted GPO and Association partners
  • Identifies from partner membership, opportunities to pursue new business together and engage appropriate sales and business development team members in pursuit
  • Collaborates with VP's / Directors of Local Account Management and Strategic Account Management to provide monthly updates to GPO partners on overall member satisfaction
  • Collaborate with Marketing Department to initiate and develop marketing plans and resources to support growth focus of GPO's
  • Develops Annual and Quarterly Strategic Account Growth plan in conjunction with VP Strategic Account, VP of Sales to drive net bed growth with targeted GPO partner membership
  • Ensures quarterly GPO reporting completed and timely submission of GPO quarterly payments
  • Advocates for PharMerica pharmacy services
    • Presents live, virtually, or in conjunction with sales team
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience, MBA preferred
  • Three to five years of experience in pharmacy services, business development; GPO relationship experience is a plus
  • Strong analytical, communication, and customer service skills
  • Skilled communicator and executor of strategic plan initiatives and project plans
  • Experience in sales, client services - interacting with clients and supporting company representatives to execute strategic plans
