Minimum Requirements:Masters’ degree in Business, Public Health, or Healthcare Management and 8 years of related experience with at least five years of professional management experience in a high volume, complex academic department, medical school or related health care field. Grade 13Position Description:The Department of Pathology at the University of Louisville continues to experience a robust phase of growth and expansion and is seeking a full-time Senior Director, HSC Business Affairs.The Senior Director, HSC Business Affairs for the Department of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine is the primary non-faculty administrator and responsible for oversight, administration and management of fiscal, clinical, academic and research functions which includes comprehensive financial activity, budget planning, reporting, comparison and analysis, forecasting, grants, contracts, human resources, clinical practice, facilities, regulatory compliance to support and sustain the department while working to identify opportunities to increase support and services to meet strategic initiatives. The Senior Director, HSC Business Affairs will partner with the department Chair, Health Science Center Finance and Administration, and University of Louisville Physicians leadership to develop and execute strategies for the department within the U of L School of Medicine and U of L Health.The Senior Director, HSC Business Affairs works in conjunction with the hospital CEOs, health system executives, and practice plan executives in managing and leading the laboratories associated with the department throughout the health system. This position is responsible for mentoring and leading faculty MD and PhD in the areas of leadership growth and consulting in aforementioned areas including but not limited to human resources, administration, and financial affairs.The Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine is a leader in digital pathology and artificial intelligence with a fully digital clinical workflow that affords residents and faculty unique opportunities and allows them the flexibility of remote access. The department is also supported by several state-of-the-art research and diagnostic laboratories, including strong core instrument facilities with modern molecular diagnostics capabilities.Louisville, home of the Kentucky Derby, is a city on the move, with major amenities like world-class performing arts and cultural amenities, great sports, a thriving downtown, an abundance of parks and recreational areas, and an incredible food and dining culture.
