Minimum Requirements:Master's degree in a related field and four (4) years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Position Description:The Research Scientist in the Brown Cancer Center will develop a variety of complex assays, such as FACS analysis of T cell, NK cell and antigen presenting cell function in living animals, isolation, and purification of tumor exosomes, Western Blotting, Southern Blotting, in vitro kinase assay, immunohistochemistry, immunoprecipitation, confocal microscope analysis of protein localization, yeast two-hybrid assay, and intracellular calcium assay. Incumbent will demonstrate a proficiency in analytical and statistical techniques recognizing similarities and differences in date based on expected outcomes. Ensures labs’ activities remain within regulatory guidelines and all established safety procedures are followed. The Research Scientist will collect, record, and ensure the accuracy of data. This position will maintain accurate and organized research data files. Providing prompt and accurate reports to principal investigator are required. The Research Scientist will be expected to recognize methodological problems and assist with implementation of solutions. They must be capable of searching current scientific journals for information on recent developments and techniques. The Research Scientist will have ability in designing protocols and developing scientific methodology, and assisting Principal Investigator with composition and editing of grant applications. Reviews and interprets data.Essential duties:Developing, directing, conducting and organizing data collection and analyze day to day activities of the lab; coordinate and schedule research activities.Establish a variety of assays to evaluate the effects of edible plant exosomes on gut bacterial growth, and invasiveness in both cell culture and living animals. Then, developing standardized protocols for those assays and training other existed lab members and freshly coming postdoctoral fellows and graduate students.Manage the daily operations of the research lab including the supervision of staff, development of plans, oversight of the research project and Clinical Trials.Demonstration in proficiency in analytical and statistical techniques recognizing similarities and differences in data based on expected outcomes. Ensures lab activities remain within regulatory guidelines and all established safety procedures are followed.Prepare written reports and documents pertaining to data management, research methodology, and study results.
