Waystar Manager, Financial Planning - Revenue in Louisville, Kentucky

ABOUT THIS POSITION

With the guidance of the Sr. Director of FP&A, this role is responsible for leading Waystar’s revenue FP&A team.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Lead the development and enhancement of comprehensive revenue reporting and forecasting systems, including monthly external reports, budgets, and long-range plans.

  • Supervise and mentor a team of analysts in creating robust monthly forecasts, operating models, and scenario analyses.

  • Utilize Excel and PowerBI for detailed revenue attribution and cohort analysis to assess performance against plans and forecasts.

  • Prepare and present revenue forecast reports to executive leadership, supporting strategic decision-making.

  • Innovate and refine forecasting models to enhance accuracy and integration of newly acquired businesses.

  • Work with teams such as accounting, client operations, sales, and IT to improve reporting efficiency and forecast precision.

  • Contribute as a strategic partner in the company's growth and long-term planning.

  • Conduct financial modeling and analysis of complex data sets to discover actionable insights.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

  • Hold a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with 5-7 years of experience, including at least 3 years in corporate FP&A roles. Public company experience is a plus.

  • Demonstrate experience in revenue forecasting in Private Equity-backed or public companies.

  • Utilize sophisticated Excel functions and features (e.g., PowerQuery, Offset, Index/Match, Indirect) in conjunction with advanced modeling techniques, such as time-series analysis, residual identification, and seasonality adjustments, to significantly improve the precision and reliability of recurring revenue forecasts.

  • Have exposure to the SaaS sector and familiarity with volume-based or subscription-based revenue models in a perpetual license business.

  • Understand GAAP financial reporting requirements; CPA designation is a plus.

  • Demonstrate initiative, curiosity, and ownership in previous roles.

  • Exhibit excellent problem-solving skills with a data-driven approach.

  • Possess outstanding communication abilities, capable of engaging effectively at all organizational levels.

  • Adapt communication styles to achieve desired outcomes.
